FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Parenting that works for both parent and child … the launch of a new book
Peaceful Parenting: Parent Empowerment And Child Empowerment

Flemington, NJ (March 26, 2004) - Parenting isn't for dummies. Everyone knows that parenting is the hardest job out there. Facing the challenge of raising happy and healthy children can be overwhelming and often intimidating. Not anymore. Parents now have a framework for creating a successful family life with the publication of Peaceful Parenting: Parent Empowerment And Child Empowerment.

Written by professional educator and parenting expert, Dr. Richard Horowitz, Peaceful Parenting: Parent Empowerment And Child Empowerment tackles the task of parenting by offering inventive interactive tools, case studies, and tips in non-technical language that parents shouldn't be without.

Based on the Family Centered Parenting™ concept, created by Dr. Horowitz, this book shows how parents can use the family as a base so that children and their caregivers have their individual and mutual needs met in a fulfilling and responsible manner.

Mutual respect between workers and managers is the hallmark of a successful business relationship, which is exactly the same formula Dr. Horowitz suggests implementing in the home. Family Centered Parenting™ stresses communication and verbal skill building, an additional benefit for children's achievement in school and life.

With non-traditional family structures becoming more and more prevalent, Family Centered Parenting™ is also the ideal resource as it can be catered to any individual family's unique values. Family Centered Parenting™ reminds us that a family is not child centered, it is family centered. This means all members of the family must be empowered to lead a rewarding life.

A few of the interactive techniques used in the book are:
   •  Guidelines for creating a family mission statement that expresses a family's own values that they want to live by.
   •  A road map for conducting family meetings where a crisis can be rehearsed before it occurs.
   •  "The Plan" worksheet that allows a child to acknowledge a problem, discuss and accept discipline rather than being punished without resolving the underlying problem.

"I've worked with over 1,000 families over the years and have learned that a harmonious home environment can only be truly created when parent and child are both empowered," says author Dr. Horowitz. "After experimenting with and implementing these techniques throughout my career, I decided to share my valuable learnings with a broader audience. My philosophy in everything I do has always been treating others with the respect and dignity I would like to be treated with and clearly articulating needs and expectations - parenting is no different."

Peaceful Parenting: Parent Empowerment And Child Empowerment author Dr. Horowitz has been working with children, schools, families and organizations for over 30 years. He also works with individual families as an advocate in obtaining services from schools and agencies and in assisting them in implementing Family Centered Parenting™ techniques in their home.

Peaceful Parenting: Parent Empowerment And Child Empowerment retails for $19.95 and is available for purchase at www.rhsolutionsinc.com, www.publishamerica.com or from any other online major book retailer.

RH SOLUTIONS….A MAN'S BEST FRIEND

The launch of male specified coaching services

Career paths, relationships, children…. Worries most commonly associated with women can also deeply affect a man. Often thought of in society as strong and capable, many men battle with day-to-day stresses that can make them feel weak or invaluable. Stereotypically men bottle their feelings and try to deal with it themselves. Now there is an easier way…. The Man's Coach from RH Solutions.

Dr. Richard Horowitz, founder of the consulting firm RH Solutions, is now offering coaching services created specifically for men. After serving as Vice President of the Men Mentoring Men organization, Dr. Horowitz realized the demand for such a service. Men tend to isolate themselves when faced with challenges and find it particularly difficult to seek advice and assistance.

Through his years as a consultant to thousands of families and individuals, Dr. Horowitz has created a framework that recognizes and validates a man's unique perspective and experiences. He has created a mentoring environment that gives men the freedom to explore their lives from a place that is free of shame and criticism.

The Man's Coach is the ideal way for men to battle such issues as it is done mostly by phone and gives the caller a sense of privacy and security. A coach is not a therapist, which can also be intimidating to men. It is a unique personal relationship that helps a person get from where they are to where they want to be. Through regular telephone and e-mail contact over a period of months, the coach provides support and advice to empower a person to overcome obstacles and fully achieve desired life-changing outcomes.

Dr. Horowitz takes this concept one step further by creating coaching services specifically for men. This includes responses to major personal or professional challenges, resolving specific difficulties that are impending one from living as full a life as possible or to just maximize an individuals efficiency and effectiveness in accomplishing an already established goal.

"By utilizing my expertise as an educator and trainer and a leader in developing and facilitating support networks for men I've been able to create something that I feel is very important," says Dr. Horowitz. "This is the ideal opportunity for men who need to talk but feel intimidated with preexisting methods."

CONSULTANT OFFERS COACHING FOR MEN

Courier News Wednesday, June 5, 2002

Men looking for help in making a career choice or in getting our of a life stump have a new shoulder upon which to lean.

Richard Horowitz - also knows as The Man's Coach - offers private consulting services to men. A personal consultant, Horowitz has in the past worked with families, individual parents and with corporates in staff development.

Creating a personal coaching service for men grew out of Horowitz' business, RH Solutions, and his work with the Somerville-based group, Men Mentoring Men.

"In my work of facilitating men's groups there and seeing the issues many men come with, I decided to move into the area of personal and life coaching, specializing in working with men," he said.

Horowitz is quick to point out that he does not offer therapy.

"Coaching is a short-term kind of life-enhancing and success orientated interaction," he said. "It's designed to help someone make some forward progress in their life if they're stuck. It could be a career change, a divorce or starting a new business."

"A coach comes in and helps you clarify your objectives and make sure they're consistent with who you are," he said.

Horowitz conducts the coaching through telephone calls and email, he said.

There is no charge for the initial consultation, Horowitz said. Should the client decide to proceed Horowitz will prepare a personal profile, ask the client to fill out a questionnaire and create a "mission statement."

"That establishes goals and creates a time line for accomplishing those goals," he said.

The process takes about two months, for which Horowitz charges about $700.

After the first two months, "you can continue a maintenance basis to keep someone on target," he said. "It's very tailored to every individual's needs."
